What is growth hacking in SEO: How your company can grow with SEO!

In 2010, a consultant started using the term “growth hacker” and five years later, the digital marketing world snatched it and took it by storm with posts after posts and blogs after blogs, the thing is, growth hacking is just a rapid growth of website traffic, social media marketing followers, SEO and other digital strategies.

This buzzword is one of the most common ones in the digital world today with thousands of “experts” who can quickly grow your business with their strategies. While there are efficient and experienced “growth hackers” out there that could follow proper guidelines and marketing strategies to implement the proper SEO strategies, more often than not, it will result in a bit of a mess.

Growth hacking is just a mindset, a mentality that is brought to fruition with the right strategies in place. Our Denver Colorado SEO experts want to break down how a company could achieve a growth hack SEO mindset and strategy and the notions that should be in place for a successful growth hack SEO.

A quick story about SEO

About 10 years ago, around the time that this consultant at PayPal coined the phrase “growth hacker” our owner at Denver Media Group met with a panel of the leading SEO experts and Google executives in regards to SEO.

With one question in mind, our owner got the answer he wanted all along, “What are the top 10 ranking factors for a website?” The executives and industry leaders were impressed and said it only takes three things. Yes, even out of 270+ factors that Google releases that are part of ranking in SEO, there were only three factors that really mattered.

That’s the thing with growth hack SEO, if these three strategies are done effectively with the right Denver Colorado SEO experts behind all of it, you will see growth.

1. Quality content

Quality content has been and always will be one of the most important factors in ranking in search results until Google is no longer Google. Even for other search engines, the content and its quality are just as important because consumers are searching for said content. Whether it be a question about a restaurant or about SEO, no matter the search query, there needs to be quality content behind those search queries.

The thing is, Google has a way of understanding and scanning your content to see how similar it is to the other content that is ranking for those keywords and search queries. If the content is just like any other blogs or articles out there, it will most likely never reach the first page of SERP.

The content needs to be unique and relevant to the search queries’ end goal. If a consumer is searching for answers, answer them. You don’t need to write a blog like every other person, make it your own and optimized for SEO!

2. Backlinks

Backlinks have many names in the industry, but they are one of the most important ranking factors in search engines and especially in Google. Since 1997, these links have been the pivotal ranking factor that will probably never go away. It is crazy to think that over 20 years later that this is still a critical part of ranking.

In growth hack SEO strategies, you will want backlinks and lots of backlinks. The more high quality inbound and outbound backlink on your website the better. However, it isn’t as simple as simply launching a blog and watching the links start to funnel in. Your company needs a Denver Colorado SEO expert who can provide you with a backlinking strategy.

This is because backlinks are a manual and time consuming process, and while all websites need them, it is a full time career all on its own.

3. A site that easy to crawl

Google has millions and billions of content that it crawls each and every day, and if a website is difficult for consumers to crawl, it is difficult for the Google spiders to crawl through and make their web. A website should have really no more than three clicks to get consumers to their destination, and the same rule of thumb goes for search engines.

The more and more a product or page is hidden, the harder it is to crawl, and in return, the more likely it is to struggle to rank or stay ranking! A site needs to be simple and provide the right information. For those websites that make it a bit difficult, it is time to change your sitemap and even design.

There you have it. That is how a successful growth hack SEO strategy can be implemented with three notions in mind.
