In an effort to make our lives easier, Google is finally updating the App + Web Property in Google Analytics. This is a pretty significant change because it will help users measure multiple websites and apps. Yay!
Google introduced the App + Web Properties in July 2019 allowing people to measure data across not only their app but their websites all in a single place. The design was created specifically to help site owners better understand their users’ journey across various platforms.
App + Web Properties also allows you to include more custom analysis options and gives you much faster access to your users’ data.
Now supporting up to 50 data streams across all of your interfaces (apps, websites and web apps) all from a single property. The supports apps also include Google Firebase web apps, finally.
You’ll now be able to see all aggregated metrics across all data streams, and can apply filters to view a single data set.

Initially, there were five options for cross-platform analysis. Google has added the following two more options:
Cohort analysis: Compare engagement between groups of similar users with more metric and dimension breakdowns.
User lifetime: Insight into the lifetime activity of a group of users, based on custom dimensions you choose.

Only available for web properties users previously, you can now add automated and custom insights in App + Websites properties.
The newly added automated insights now use machine learning to help identify key trends and anomalies in your data. Pretty slick right? The custom insights also allow you to tell Google Analytics which metrics you care about and want to be notified about.
In a feature that was previously only available to web properties, you can now get the data you care about faster by asking a question directly in the Google Analytics Search bar.
You asked and Google listened. Both automated and custom insights, among other instant answers from Google analytics search dropdown are now available. Are you non-English speaking? Good, I bring you other good news, the updates will soon be available in other languages supported by Google Analytics very soon.
